Birth Stories tell the story of your baby’s birth from active labor through the first few hours postpartum. The support of your partner, the power of your labor, the first moment you see your child, newborn exam, baby’s measurements, and the first feeding are all moments that go by quickly and can easily fade in memory. My job as your birth photographer is to capture all of these moments so that they can be frozen in your memory forever. Birth Stories are about remembering the day you first met your child. The day you became a mother. The day your family was created and grew. What better moment is there in life?

Many questions come up when considering hiring a birth photographer. I've answered a few of the most common questions and concerns below.

What should I expect when I hire a birth photographer?

Expect for your birth story to unfold exactly as it would if I wasn’t there. Except you will have a beautiful collection of images to remember this day by. We will start with an in-person meeting, either before you book me or after. After you’ve booked your due date, my schedule is cleared for the weeks before and after your due date! I don’t travel more than an hour from your place of birth, and will drop anything at a moment’s notice to join you when the time comes. I will quietly document your labor, birth, and first hours with your baby while also being an encouraging part of your birth team. When you are ready for alone time with your new family, I will leave and then provide you with five sneak peek images within 24 hours of your baby’s birth. Your full image gallery will be delivered within 30 days.

Who will see the images of my birth?

Only the people you wish to see them! I will never share images or video without your written consent. If you want to share them all, great! Want to share only a few? Wonderful! Don’t want to share any at all? No problem. This is your day, your images, and you have control over who sees them. Your privacy is my priority.

Where do you photograph?

I will travel to any birth center, hospital, or home within the Orlando area. This includes, but is not limited to:

The Birth Place Birth Center, Winter Garden
Tree of Life Birth Center, Orlando
Heart 2 Heart Birth Center, Sanford
Winnie Palmer Hospital, Orlando
South Lake Hospital, Clermont
Oviedo Medical Center, Oviedo
Advent Health locations around Central Florida
Home Birth locations around Central Florida

Why is birth photography important?

This day only happens once. Just like your wedding day. There are no do-overs. Imagine having the freedom for both you and your partner to put your phone away and be able to completely immerse yourselves in meeting your child. Look at your baby through your eyes, not your camera. That is why I believe so strongly in birth photography. This is a day you should experience to the fullest and remember the details of. I promise to capture every detail, even ones you don’t notice on the day, and to provide you a collection telling the full story of your beautiful birth. I don’t want you to miss a moment of that story.

When should I book my birth?

You can book your due date on my calendar as early or late in your pregnancy as you choose. However, I recommend booking near the beginning of the second trimester. I schedule a limited number of births per month, so it’s best to book as soon as you know you are ready to. This also allows time for you utilize a payment plan if needed.

How much does it cost?

Birth photography is an investment. Hiring someone with the experience and knowledge required to safely and professionally document your birth means you will spend more than you might expect, but it is worth it to hire a professional who knows how to capture your birth without disturbing you or interfering with your medial team.

Birth Stories are $1500 when booked on their own. I also offer packages and add-on services. The full digital image gallery is included. Visit my investment page for more details on pricing.

Seem like you can’t afford it? I offer payment plans and will work with you to create a custom plan that works for your financial situation.

From there, we will schedule a time to meet and get to know each other a bit. If you are ready to book, we can take care of that at our meeting as well.
